Frequently Asked Questions

Learn more about strengthening and using the Gynie device in our Gynie-Pedia/Education section.

What does a strong PC muscle look like?

Within our core is the PC (PuboCoccygeus) Muscle – essential to achieving full body fitness, this muscle acts as a sling to hold pelvic organs in place. The PC Muscle is one of the most versatile muscles in our entire body.

What makes Gynie different than other kegel training devices?

Gynie has a unique, patented system for training the PC muscle. It is the only device on the market that uses eccentric and concentric movement to train your muscle. Think of it like a bi-cep curl. Both raising and lifting the weight is beneficial in building strength. Gynie also has three different levels to accommodate each individual’s starting ability and progression. This is often referred to as Kegel training, pelvic floor training, or vaginal exercise. Gynie is a Class II FDA registered Medical Device.

Why use Gynie instead of regular kegels workouts?
Since the PC muscle is internal it is difficult to know exactly how to isolate and build it. The goal is to squeeze and draw the muscle upward, on the inside. Often women end up tightening the abdominals and the glut muscles as well or instead. This is ineffective in toning the PC muscle. Studies show that approximately 3 out of 4 women do kegels incorrectly and ineffectively. With Gynie, you can’t go wrong. Gynie was designed to specifically isolate the PC muscle and develop it, using both eccentric and concentric motion for ultimate inner strength. Gynie is the fastest way to strengthen your PC muscle.
What is Gynie made out of?

Lay on your back with your knees bent and legs relaxed. Make sure your back is propped up so you can reach holding your hand on the handle comfortably at all times.

I can't squeeze any of the resistance springs what do I do?

Try using Gynie without the springs! There is still resistance in using the device by itself.

I am unable to close the Gynie sleeves all the way?

Keep training, you will get there. Your training is still valuable even if you only close the sleeves partly. Any movement in the sleeves is beneficial.

The sleeves do not open up inside of me?

Try a higher resistance spring, to help open up, giving you the opportunity to get some range of motion.

I can barely notice any range of motion?

Every woman’s anatomy differs. Some women are able to open and close the device further than others. If you are finding that your range of motion is as little as ½ inch to ¾ inch, that is still progress. Although it is a very subtle movement, that is still training your PC muscle. A little goes a long way!

How do I know if the sleeves are moving or not?

In the Connected version, the app will show you on the screen the movement. If you have the Original version, you can try and put a finger in between the sleeves inside the handle part. When the finger feels like it is getting squeezed, then you are contracting the PC muscle.

I can’t complete the recommended amount of repetitions, what do I do?

At Gynie, we encourage you to complete what you feel is possible. The recommended amount of repetitions is to be used as a guide. Your main focus should be on improving on your own personal best!
